cant realy aford it but my daily aint worth nothing to sell as is so guess its gota be done

always wanted to go up the the translator track to Tahurangi lodge mt egmont, via 4wd, instead of walking it, today was the support vehicle to bring down folk unable to make it back to Stratford plateau, for the open climb 130 people on climb, 3 needed to beferried down, a track with plenty of challenge.

welded a couple of patches into my sons car and tidied up some of the paintwork in between callouts

,
Sold the Paj

gone to a good home but still going to miss it.
accepted a new job offer so will be resigning from my current job and starting back in the IT field after a 4 year "holiday" doing other things. looking forward to the challenge

rocked up to rex's. Stared at the pieces of antiquated zukes laying about the property, tried to fit some 33's into the Commodore, generally took the piss, fed Dan up on chocolate, the wife spent some time playing with rexs ginger pussy, and came home via the Rangiriri hotel.
Popped a plate over the new tailpipe to hopefully give it some semblance of protection.
Took it for a blat out on the open road to see what difference there is now with a nice clean (about 2 years since i last cleaned it) filter and the exhaust. Theres definately some more pep there, but the noise will drive a man crazier than having to read Coxys posts and trying to understand them.

All fixed now..turned out to be a fusable link piece of wire thingy at the back of the holder.....had to take half the dash out to get to it.

Did the rear guard chop thing as the new 35x12.5 Kumhos have a slight contact issue with it. Went from 35" across the wheel arch to 40".

After finally getting my steering quickener fitted yesterday thought I should take it for a test drive.
Went across behind home and the farmer told me about a new track and swamp to play in
turns out its a mix of bottomless and big holes in the firmer stuff (original old drain I think) End result a couple of up hill winches to get up then young fella goes we have to go back that way too, so 2 more winches downhillish and we were back on the track. Truck now covered in swamp mud. Bottoms clean though cause we had a play in the river on the way out. (All OK cause they have a digger in there dreging it)
Oh yeah quickener is mint bit heavier but 2 turns lock to lock v 4.

Only one other vehicle as below, a huge turn out, all sorts and ages and a beautiful day for it. Didn't take any others as there were just too many.
The Jeep was running a Ford V8, twin ARB lockers etc etc
This is a 1938 Ford Pickup Barrelnose
