20 -21st Feb

Post by dazza85 »

Well my weekend started today :D :D

Went out to give an old friend a hand to recover a fishing net he found ...
Went well till we were leaving and hit a soft spot in the shingle
and sudenly its sitting on the chassis
The High-lift worked well to lift up the back end and fuil in the holes under the wheels ( I must modify the front bumper so I can use the high-lift at the front ) then lots of spade work and a gentle snatch then towed out :) :)

I'm so glad that there still some people that are prepared to help others out ... The 4th person we asked was more than happy to spend the time to pull us out :-) :) :)
We won't talk about the response from 2 of the other 3

Installed lokka into the rear of my 80 series, now just waiting on an appropriate flange so I can bolt up the driveshaft.

When this happens I just politely say thank you and hope Kharma catches up with them. No point getting shitty about arseholes - they will get their rewards eventually.

As for my weekend, I'll be visiting the section I bought in Rollywood (chch) and scoping out where things are. A busy weekend doing familly shite but I hope to sneak away for a bit of a 4wd shopping scouting trip. That way when I come down for good I can hit the ground running. oh yeah and escape from all that sibling/family rivalry BS that always accompanies these sort of events.

I had two round flanges and the buyers of both diffs knew I wanted them so did the honest thing and left them on there

Went with another club member through a couple of stations to pickup Search and Rescue Fellas, hot az! was great day though.Narrow farm tracks through some steep countryside, some bits only just wide enough for the Saf. :D Dont know if any other clubs help out S.A.R but if you get the chance its a great cause and they get ya into alot of country/tracks you'd probably never get otherwise.
