Hi all, I have recently purchased a 1996 Toyota Prado 95 series, what are the recommendations for fitting an extra AT cooler.
There seems to be conflicting theories of where to plumb the extra cooler , 1) before the existing cooler,
2) after existing cooler,
3) take existing factory cooler out of the system.

Anyone know of a good top quality make or type of Trans Cooler that they can recommend.

Thought I would throw this topic out to the good people of ORE to see what replies I get.
Your replies will have to be quick as I head off on it's maiden trip with the Caravan on Saturday.

I spent last week fitting up a new Exhaust Pyrometer probe and gauge so that should take care of the 1KZTE,

I HOPE,

FITZY.

i don't know if the prado has the same problem as the surf with its auto cooler. the surf one the cooler blocks the radiator flow a fair bit so its often shortened/moved or removed completely.

if you just want to make sure auto runs cool enough then add another cooler AFTER the stock one. preferably with a bypass thermostat (to stop over cooling).
the old cooler takes out most of the heat and the new one removes whats left without needing to run a massive cooler which blocks air flow to the radiator.
