Landcruiser 3b turbo

Post by mayday »

Im in the process of a turbo conversion on my 70 series bush truck, the 3b was lacking the power to clear the simexs so thought it was a good cheap fix. Just wondering whos done it before and what I can expect power/torque wise. Also any tips or tricks appreciated!

Hi

I have turbo'd my 3b. I guess the best extra I did was the 2 1/2 inch exhaust added at the time. I believe that has contributed to more torque in the 1000 to 1500 rev range.

The other things I did was a boost and EGT gauges. I mostly only boost to 5 lb. the gate is set to a max of 7.5 approx. EGT I only let max at 500 then will take foot off the gas.......

I used a Aust kit through the local turbo guy. But lots of ideas and specs on using C26? turbos on www.IH8mud.com You will have to get the ratio of the turbo's air to exhaust gas right.

Thanks henry, I have done a bit of research through ih8mud.com and discovered this post http://forum.ih8mud.com/diesel-tech-24- ... ost3472264

I am using a TD04L, 3" exhaust, some extra fuel and hoping for 7 to 12lb wake up call
