Went 4wding at the Kaipara bombing range this week (sand is really soft right now - needs some rain), blew some shite up - 2 tonnes in 300kg piles  and drank a little alcohol (not during work but afterwards).

And yes I do love that part of my job - will miss that more than anything else. A blast wave is such a rush

The Maxtrax we got worked well on the stuckages.

Went along and helped out as radio check points at the Wharite Hill Climb.

Put together a collection below, was awesome watching the cars and then came along the quads. Those guys are nuts and the quads are really fast. The last quad in the video not so fast, but still would have been a blased

Went up Woodhill, was dry as a bone!

Still managed to get intentionally stuck, used the winch a couple times, and a mate broke his front diff/cv .

vega; think along the lines of 2 girls 1 cup. :?

good work on getting the motor sorted. If you want company to go collect it- you know where I am.

I know how well ya truck went before  cant imagine that thing with even MORE power. ridiculous!

Not working tomorrow bro- got off to work on the truck and + the holiday/alone time is doing me good.

Today I got a sausage from outside of bunnings. Was a good deal for $1.50 for sausage, bread, tomato sauce and lots of onion.

I'm quite sure sausages taste best when they come from those fundraiser stalls.

It made me feel better about spending 5$ per cut off disk for my grinder and about the fact 1m steel rulers were over $80.

I couldn't bring myself to spend that much so instead got two 610mm promark rulers for $8 something each. This means I got a bargain- 1220mm of steel ruler for just $17ish.

As a comparison I could have bought $80 worth of these promark brand 610mm rulers and ended up with a device that could measure 4.2m something meters of anything horizontal.

Measuring anything vertically with seven 610mm rulers sounds quite difficult hence the exclusion.

I'd have had change from the $80 too so could have bought a few sausages from the fundraiser stall outside.

Unless of course i did have to measure something vertically in which case I'd have spent the change on duct tape and gone hungry without the sausage.

Have you posted in the wrong forum again?

Went out Saturday to reccie for a First response fundraiser on Sunday, got have way round then spend a couple of hours pulling the rear diff head out.

Pinon nut had come undone pionion bearing had collapsed and pinion chewwed its way back over center. Lucky teeth are harder than centre so looks like only need to replace bearing and diff will be fine.

Back to co-drivers shed and spare diff fitted then was able to do take my group out yesterday.

Jayne went off with group on sat afternoon to see where rest of tracks were going to be, she fell asleep twice in the heat in the back of the vehicle she was in and woke up when they stopped. We do those tracks first in the morning, we are travlling along and I ask where do we go up here? Her reply....

To the right I remember that bull standing in that paddock yestrerday, Turns out she was correct but how the hell do you get a strange bull that you have only seen once to stay in the same spot from 17 hours
