Hi Yah
If you are running the 1KZTE...
Here is the ECU pinouts...

To lock it up...You want to supply voltage to SL...
If you want to stop it locking....Put a switch in it and it will interupt the voltage to the solenoid in the box.
I am not a sparkie but I have used a brakeout box to control the auto... Using paddles ..but have gone back to standard.
Hope this helps

be careful if you do wire up a switch to do it manually...if its locked while decelerating it wont be good for the auto

thanks very much. will only be used on accel, although i cant see why it would do any damage using it on decel as well? towing around 2tonnes of trailer without having it locked causes some serious transmission heat issues...
can u change gear with the t/c locked or does having it locked not allow it to change

The normal shift patterns have the TC unlock when shifting gears.
Also when braking.
I have a toyota document which explaines how it all works..
Goto
http://www.autoshop101.com/and select technical articles.
There is a huge list of documents..
All about Toyota and thier basic concepts.
Great reading.
