Has anyone fitted one of these snorkels from 4wdbits:
http://www.4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=1501
Unfortunately there is no pic and I can't find much doing a google search either. They are a similar price to the Gibson airflow snorkels. I'm assuming they come half way along the guard and then have an internal piece like the airflows?
Are the ARB Safari units the only ones that come all the way along the guard and go straight into the engine bay? Pity they are nearly twice as much..
Anyone know where to get a snorkle at a decent price. Cheers.

Wheres that? I paid a bit more to get just the bent up tube a few years ago, then had to get mounts welded on and powder coated on top of that. Still way cheaper than a safari one though and you can heat and move the bends if you want to change the way it sits.

What is the name of the place?
I'm from Gore, there aren't really a lot of options for tube bending here and definately no mandrel bends. The only way to get one made locally would be to have several mandrel bends and tube welded.
Re: Snorkel for GQ??
i should of made myself more clear all you get is the pipe no top hat or mounts still cheaper than the safari ones
I fitted a gibson one but it was shit ripped it off and made one out off 3inch exhaust pipe
think the place is called auto bend

Re: Snorkel for GQ??
Heres Skids snorkel install thread. Assuming its the same one which is imported by Traxxion it appears to be a bad copy of the ARB one (even the superwader logo is a copy of the ARB one)
http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... &sk=t&sd=a
it seems I have the only super wader snorkel imported into NZ for an 80 series
what I got, is what it is, so theres no instructions, a template that doesn't even resemble my guard and a couple of screws and a bracket in a bag and no idea where any of it goes on what I consider to be a vital component.
the reply email also said that I would just have to do it by sight, which is at the bottom of my list at the moment.
they did however tell me that the safari instructions should be the same, so am currently annoying the ARB apprentice boy for a copy of a safari template and instructions

Re: Snorkel for GQ??
Old thread I know but...
Picked up a 3" snorkel pipe from Auto Bend today - had on shelf ready to go. Got it home to Safari and lined it up to find it goes inside panel through the battery. Has anyone got one from Auto Bend that travels down the bonnet a bit further; reckon they will have another template?
Any other comments/experiences???

Re: Snorkel for GQ??
Billy -
I got one from Auto bend also (3inch Mandrell Steel tube).
Mine comes close to the head light (but behind offcourse)
TB42E engine so my air intake pipe in that area,
I Wonder if they made them for the 12V Diesels Patrols (NZ new) ?
I will have to adapted my intake to it .
Shouldn't be hard, just got to get my A into G and sort it.
If anyone wants to buy mine let me know, as I've not used and have had it for a while , Thinking of getting a Stainless one made up instead.
Cheers

Unless you're doing something horribly wrong lining it up that's not the right snorkel. Dude probably just had it labelled wrong or something.
