Try the Conway, but get a snorkel first. Head over to the westcoast on a few weekend trips, before you know it you'll be on one of Al & Tim's excellent adventures

Thanks to life getting in the way of my trip, I'll be there too... Didn't make it down South, so I'll at least make it to the Waipara

At this stage the trip is open to anyone who wants to come along... Rik and I will be at the Mobil station in Amberley at 12:30... and after I've bought and eaten all the pies we'll be off

I would prefer it if you had your own recovery gear, and you should have recovery points front and rear. This won't be a cock-flopping trip, but there are plenty of little tricky bits along the way to test flex/power/pucker :)

If you've never been to Amberley then you'll find the Mobil about in the middle of the town on SH1 - very hard to miss.

See you all there

Worsleys spur: head to The Princess Margaret Hospital, keeping heading around that road until you see some shops on your right. Turn left at that intersection. Head up the hill and go through the gate. Drive up the track, have a rest up the top and drive back down, good way to spend sunday afternoon. Don't go alone though, it is getting well used and has some tricky spots. 8)
