Just a bit of info for all you Toyota Power windowed vehicles. (And others)
My daughter pushed in the front passengers side elec window switch while playing at Maratoto yesterday.
End result we couldnt power up the window at the end of our days playing.
Even from the drivers control.
Thought the motor might have burnt out. (No fuse blew...Thought it might have if stuffed motor)
However pulled her down this morning (window not daughter)
and bypassed switch to directly power motor. Worked fine Phew.
Up and down.
Checked I had good power to switch. Yes power and a good earth.
Checked the switch and it wasnt working on one pole.
Pulled switch apart, nothing to loose.. Carboned up on two contacts. Quick clean with a fine file and back together.
Work great and stronger than before.... Must have been slowly carboning up.
The switch takes all the load i.e not a relay.
It also now works from the drivers door.
Conclusion: If you have a slow up and down window and have lubricated tracks and guides, check the door switch.
Daddy happy now
