What Bino's to get

Post by rob-mu »

Can anyone suggest a good pair of first binoculars to get,Dont mind paying good money for quality..Just not sure what power etc..I guess what terrain you hunt on determines part of it but as I dont have any Spot x's quite yet It's hard to decide!

I use bushnell h20's in 10 power and they've been excellent. You definitely see the difference between them and something like zeiss or leupold binos but they've always done the job.
I'd just rather wreck $250 binos than $800 ones so it does depend on what you need em for. Mine are thrashed during goose shooting so pick some that fit your particular requirement.

they dont wear out and ya have to be a rough bastard to wreck them, spend the money and get some high end bushnells or average leupolds, for general nz hunting go for 8x40's no smaller and for hunting its more about the lens size as thats where ya light comes from

Ive got Steiner Ranger's in 8x40 and they are awesome esp when in low light etc, the only downside is they are a bit bulky,

They'll be sweet as. field of view is a bit small with them but the pair I've got have lasted well. Sell heaps at work and have never had any returned.
