Surf suspension / lift

Post by Greeny »

Just wondering if anyone can help - I was wanting to lift my '86 Surf maybe 2 or 3 inches but it has independant front suspension and I don't know how to go about it/ if it can be done.

Any wise words would be appreciated

Cheers

IFS has limitations, but a reasonable lift can still be achieved.

either extended shackles in the rear or replace the rear springs with 50mm lifted ones

Tweak the torsion bars in the front to suit, while maintaining a safe amount of reserve out-travel

Fit a 35-50mm body lift... Turoa, your kit might be more work than it first appears due to steering shaft slip requirements and fuel fillers, gear change, handbrake stretch, brake lines in the front etc... do you know what other bits the guy that fitted the lift added to avoid those issues?

Have a read here, might help with some basic stuff:
