hey all, i just have a quick question that i need to know as soon as i can,
I just have a new head and gasket for my mazda and was wondering when i put it on do i need to use gasket sealant / glue? its a metal headgasket (monotorque) and its a 1989 mazda 626 2.0L FE motor, alloy head and cast iron block.
I know its a noob question and not 4wd related but i just want to make sure.
cheers

As above, also, even being a monotorque gasket, I highly recommend loosening and retorqueing after its been hot and cold a few times or after 500kms or so. They do go down further and those engines are prone to doing in the gasket between cylinders.

I will make sure I do that then, just another quick question, what about the other gaskets, ie the intake, distributor etc?
Cheers

You can put sealant on those, mainly inlet manifold, thermostat housing, a light smear of silicone gasket RTV, dont over do it
