1HDT 200k service - what to do, and where??

Post by Jacko »

The landcruiser (1hdt) is due for a 200,000km service. Cambelt etc, but was thinking of also having the injectors serviced, big end bearings replaced, performance tune up, possibly fit a pyro guage aswell as secondary oil press and water temp gauges. Anything else I should look at doing? Would the waterpump be worth replacing at the same time?
Need to get this done somewhere in the south island. Looked up on the net and found Diesel Pumps Ltd in CHCH and also Diesel Services in CHCH. Any recommendations between these two places, or any other suggestions?

Cheers.

I work on the marine equivilent engine (Yamaha's and Yanmar's), and doing the injectors won't be cheap, they are two stage injectors and most shops always say they need new nozzles.
Good engines though. Keep an eye on the harmonic balancer on the front of the crank shaft, I have seen heaps of these fly to bits under constant revs. Have had a few water pumps leak at the seal too. In the life of the engine, It's only just run in :!:
I hope this helps. Cheers
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
