Fuel pump swaps

Post by lincooln »

Hi all, I am just wondering if I were to fit a fuel pump say out of a Mazda 626 2.0L carb into my Suzuki 1600 carb. Would it actually work?

I know there isn't any performance gain, but just wondering really. also when my chassis was bent it crimped the fuel line, but it hasn't made any difference. I still regularly go to the rev limit. Only thing is my dad and brother has had it cut out and run rough till it dies, could it be related?

Cheers

carby 626's where mechanical pump, i doubt it would bolt straight one, but you never know it might be close enough. any advantage.....no.

crimp in the fuel line can also cause air to come out of the fuel causing vapour lock.

That does sound like it could be vapour lock.

But on a brighter note i seem to be getting 350km+ to a tank. about 45km+ to what I was getting. Don't think that has to do with anything though.
