Hello, have a 96 solid axle hilux and am after a new steering shaft to go from the joint under the steering column to the steering box. Toyota want big money so wondering can anyone in the know tell me if any other toyota model has the same shaft/similar shaft with the same splines ? Doesn't matter if its longer as long as it doesn't have that wide flex thing on the end.
Cheers Chris.

Toyota surf or four runner has same spline count but I think shaft is shorter. I used the universal off one with the shaft of my 85 solid axle lux when the old universal broke

Jase ----- just my sense of humour

, I have a spare half inch drive UJ out of a socket set you can have

, just weld it in ,
SHE'LL BE RIGHT.

My old man does a lot of custom steering shafts, axles etc at work, if you can't find a standard one that will work I could get him to give you an idea of price to make one to suit.
