thought I'd start this one off early.

In prep for the weekend I spent 5 hours in the garage last night  Rebuilt the startor motor, started the old girl which was an instant motivation booster to say the least especially hearing the 8 sing into life  Did the battery bracket and then wired in the winch. Wired in the fans but need a solinoid for those and some more wire.

Wheres the best place to get lots of cheap wire and solinoids?

  Most maimai's are either still underwater or now out at sea!!!

Not to mentions there are now 20x the number of ponds....

And the ships in the harbour have an alert out to watch for baleage floating in the water... Unfortunately this was alot of winter feed for us

Farmers eh! Moan there is no water and then they moan there is too much...

Kidding mate hope it all pans out. Hope the theiving bastards selling feed dont do what they did to my folks in Taupo (hay went up 400%), when there was a shortage there. I hope they get their rain in a more "controlled" fashion then you guys.

Well, I have been putting off changing my oil as I was worried about getting a few drips on the new concrete driveway. This morning I decided that I had better full finger and just do it and I'd just put an old cover down incase a little got away on me.

Needed a bigger cover.

Turns out the 20L bucket I grabbed had a sneaky crack in the bottom. I pulled the bung and went and put the kettle on. Came back a few mins later to that

Hose doesn't reach that part of the house either

At least degreaser is on special. Farkin cracked me up though. No need to worry about bloody drips anymore.

Had a good look over the new toy today, confirmed that it has rear LSD and the PTO winch worked, (Mrs wouldnt let me hook it up to the car in front at the auctions to test it  ) took the Muds off the Bighorn and tried the rims on the whale, lol big offset difference so off to the tyre shop to get them swapped over once the Savero's have had it.

spent today fitting front tow hooks, fire ext and other club required stuff, just have to make up a bracket to replace the factory U tow hook with a rated one.

been pretty slack lately.finally managed to pick up my new(to me) LJ71 prado for my next project .hopefully tomorrow work on the 80 and replace the rear discs, shoes and pads plus remove the extended drop box off the rear panhard ready for the next warrant.HOPEFULLY .Then head over to the nui to pick up my boy and his scout mates from the rimutaka forest park after their tramp into the orongorongos ,with a stop into CHROMES cave to have a bit of a chinwag.then think about the 40 so i can get it ready for its yearly queens birthday trip to dave hintzs farm in taihape to throw a bit(okay a lot) of mud and have another go at his possum problem

Went on the day/night run to Woodhill. Had an awesome time and still didn't break anything. Thats now 10+ runs and 20+ trips on the farm for the auto hubs and they are still perfectly quiet. :D

Cheers

Check the patrol forum about that. Needs a bit of strengthenin apparently. I'm still getting away with a tow hook tounge, but I'm pulling it off soon so will do one on each chassis rail and a drop tounge (when needed) from that loop spot. ;) Tow bar is HARD to bend, but not impossible.

Good buy btw. LWB is mad handy. You will sleep 4 in the back easy, if they are also easy.

The Landrover christened the other side a week ago so its progress I guess! Degreaser has damaged the surface and the house is on the market in 2 weeks so who cares. Rubber matts cure all

cheers for that Taz ... thought as much, might just resort to a shackle though the towbar mount for now which our club apparently accepts as a rated tow hook.

Yeah always loved the whales just couldn't justify the $6500-8500 price the older ones are still going for, saw this one come up at turners with a $3500-$4500 estimate and thought what the hell, got it for just over $4000 so am pretty happy, even the passenger window and sunroof works! :) pretty tidy for age (1988) and K's (234 000) cant find any signs of rust apart from a little surface rust in the sunroof and the only mechanical issue I can find is the slave cylinder needs replacing and the clutch needs bleeding (apparently a common and b*tch of a job in GQ's) so changing gears requires a little pause and a double clutch to get in first and second .. no biggie at the moment , reminds me of driving my father-in-laws old TK Bedford
