Linda Simson's tragic death has resulted in something good.

EPIRB units made by GME, the MT400 model which operates on the new 406 MHz frequency, i.e. not being phased out in 2009, are being offered for $450 inc GST. These units are $739 in Chch shops.

Weight: Unit 535g (+ 98g if you mount the bracket)
Coverage: International

The deal only goes thru if 50 units or more can be sold. Note also this offer expires on the 4th of May so if you need one get in quick.

This deal is thru the NZ4wd forum but if anyone wants one of these I know the guys putting the deal together won’t mind an email direct. Neither of them works for the company selling these EPIRBS so they are doing this for the benefit of the NZ world of 4wheeling, not for any profit themselves.
