2lte knock after inj rebuild

My injector pump was leaking badly so i pulled it & replaced the o rings etc. The leak has stopped but now i have a BAD knocking across the rev range that sounds like a fuel problem. Timing marks on cam and crank pulleys are lined up fine along with the injector pump and the full range of adjustment by turning the pump itself doesnt help. I have also tried resetting the ECU and moving the pulleys a tooth in either direction and still no fix..
Maybe iv done something inside the pump itself??? any ideas PLEASE HELP

the fuel to far advanced on the fuel pump can cause a "knocking" sound,

thanks Phil do you know if there is some other way to adjust the fuel timing other than turning the entire inj pump body? I have tried advancing/retarding it through the full range and still no fix.
Is it possible to have the pump internals 180 out?

im not sure how to do it, but from what i understand you can adjust the un boosted fuel, boosted fuel and advance the fuel, how you do it, ive got no idea sorry.

did you check cam belt timing? got it a tooth out?
normally the ecu adjusts the timing even if its out anyway. but it only does that once upon startup.
knocking could be simply sucking air in or lift pump is not pumping up enough pressure. also i believe theres a few tricks with the fuel solenoid on those to.

think we may have it sorted we might have put something inside the pump around the wrong way, we turned the pump around 180 and it seems to sound ok so we will put it altogether tommorrow and test it out
