Tyres for 96 surf.

Post by ashleygt »

Hi all, Im looking at new tyres for the 96 surf. Currently tied up with these, Kumho KL71, Hankook RT03, Bridgestone 673's, or buckshot m'ts, or something along those lines. Need something for daily driving and a few long road trips sometimes at a sprited pace, and don't really want it to handle like a tractor on wet corners, and gets reasonable mileage. Asking alot but seems these days you can get a preaty good combo and dont need to run 2 sets for general use I'm just not very clued up on modern tyres. Getting abit lost driving mighty google and never seem to find straight info as opinions differ so greatly, but keen for some NZ feedback to what likes our roads etc. Cheers and I'm very greatful for any feedback.

Just put 265 70 16 Bridgestone Desert Dueler 694's on my 99 Surf, Once I put realistic tyre pressures on it (see my posts on this subject) I found it handled well on both seal and Gravel and have managed a few tests on wet seal and they seem very quiet and good grip. I feel it is a good 80/20 compromise tyre.
