Pitty Rick didn't have much competition!
Jokes aside.
Was good to hear after all the dramas he had getting there, (Nissan tow horse failed) that he did as well as he did.
The Jeep bitsa he was running, (not all jeep running gear) may have been the winner. But I'd say it was more down to Driver/Co driver talent than Jeep that won it on the day.
WELL DONE!!!!
Looking forward to seeing the pix/vids.

I've heard that it was not much of a "winch" competition more a speed event best suited to light weight vehicles with big hp! Some guys I know of placed middle of there class and they only had to winch in 4 out of the 12 hazzards.

Although sounds like they still had a good time all the same!

Yea Rick drove pretty well. As did some of the others too and they were rewarded with results.
The night stages were all fast driving stages so no winching. Bruce Hughes brought the big Hilux out of retirement but had a blown front diff from the start box

so drove it like a mad man, did the whole stage on the rev limiter and got 3rd fastest time
There were some big winch's in the main event but yea there were not alot of them, luck of the draw I guess, a shower of rain would have made a big difference.

I agree, a spot of rain would have made a huge difference but in saying that there were no complaints at prizegiving

. I believe we need to have events that might appear a bit more user-friendly as it will get more people into the sport, rather than have all the events hard-out truck breakers which tends to put people off.

ya a good event like takatimu winch challenge , pitty people don't want to come to our event to see what they are missing out on. It is a great event we set stages that will be enjoyed and not truck wrecking.
