24Volt alternator 84 safari.

Not too sure whats wrong but batteries are draining. does any one have one lying around? know of some one wrecking a truck?
its for the SD33T motor.
preferably in canterbury
any help would be great!

sorry dude but i think you will find if ya disconnect batteries they will hold charge fine ..............MK/MQ common fault is a short in wiring somewhere causing drain but charge sweet when running
mine was draining both batteries overnight

Cheers, ill try that but im pretty sure its more than that because it wont start even after 15 mins of been turned off.

I am going through the same thing with a GQ. Have replaced altinator and batteries and fixed a short in the wiring, and still doing it

. Mine takes about a week but if I use anything electric its dead the next day. I have heard starter motors drain bats when faulty? Every now and then my starter takes two goes to start. Taking it to the sparky next week again

Ihad probs with the earth on mine so did taz try that first

Possibly a similar problem to you Mud Hog, let me know how you get on with the sparky.
Ill check the wiring for shorts tho.
