Tyre choice assistance for Grand Vitara

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good tyre for my 1999 Grand Vitara - which would fit/work?

My GV will be driven 85% of the time on road. As far as off roading goes I cannot see myself going any further than red rocks - but would like a tyre which gives me enough confidence/bite to tackle the basic trails Red Rocks.

I do not want to do a lift or any suspension work.

Are the Hankook Dynapro RA23's any good? - these seem to be a basic 4x4/suv tyre and not an A/T. Budget is around $250ish per tyre.

Have a chat or pm Robo, I ran Wrangler AT/R's on mine which were good in the wet and on gravel etc. the factory Grandtreks I found to be skittish in the wet.

Have a chat to nstacey as well, he has a 3dr

A lot of my customers use their G/Vs for Probus club 4WD outings and a bit more serious stuff. They use either the Grandtrek AT3 (totally different animal to the Bridgestone and Dunlop Grandtrek road-oriented factory-equipped tyres) or the Wrangler AT. Unfortunately I think the wrangler is now a new pattern with which I have no experience, but the original was an excellent compromise and worked very well on the G/Vs.

I run the Maxxis Bravo AT's on my shiny prado which is a "Road Truck", these are showing good wear, are great in the wet and are reasonably priced. Havent really used them "offroad" apart from gravel roads/ muddy roads ie Rallywoods where the seem good. these might be avaliable in 16" to suit the GV
