IFS front diffs - Whats the best

Post by Rotazuk »

Hello
I raised this a few years ago but shelved it etc but now the trial rules have changed and you can replace an independand diff in a class , this is a good option for a vitara . There rear diffs are not too bad , but the front is weak etc .

So whats the best ifs diffs out there . what there ratio and are they low or high pinion ?

The Pajero got mentioned last time , gen 2 etc . High pinion , can't remember the ratio's , but they do not have a removable head . While not a requirement would be nice .

What else is out there ?

Cheers
Chris

Paj ratios are

4.625,
4.636,
4.875 (4.88)
4.900
5.285 (5.29)

The 5.29 is not available in the larger diff but even the 7.25 inch is alot meatier than an 8 inch Toyo one.

All HP.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

found an article online that used a surf diff and surf rear some time back. looked interesting.

Make sure you do a build diary for this puppy...
