hey guys, im splitting with the missus and where doing the whole split the stuff thing which is going just great as you can imagine, problem is weve come to a point where we have the truck, and the joys of 50/50 split means i need to know what shes worth, now i have a fair idea and the missus has a fair idea, they just dont seem to be close to each other, trademes no help so thought id ask around here see what your opionions are
i need some unbiased prices as the missus gonna read this.
i dont need any "aww sorry to hear" bullshit to
So whats she worth, what would you pay, would could you sell it for:
Truck
1992 nissan LWB Patrol Manual 4.2 diesel
32inch maxxis mudders on 15x8s, relativly new
side bars relativly new although scuffed up now
factory diff lock
257,000kms
its pretty standard
known problems
shudder at 80km (not to bad)
sway bar link bent, may fail in wof, not sure yet, due for a wof next week
tiny, like really tiny bit of rust in rear window
diff lock takes awhile to come on, may need new solenoid
and i probably wouldnt include the draws in the back in the sale.
now for a few photos:

any questions to better your valuation fire away, thanks guys.

Since it is a basically standard truck then I'd get a car dealer to do a valuation for you. They can give you a value for trade, wholsale and retail.
I'm guessing she wants half of what you have spent on it but it just doesn't work that way. The tyres and side bars basically have no value once they are on the vehicle. 4x4's a like boats, as they are holes that you just pour money into!

yeah i might do that aswell, was going to do an AA valuation but thats online and doesnt really look at the vehicle at all, thought id get the opinion of some people that would potentialy be buyers for a good averaged price.
but yeah may take it down to a dealer and get it appraised, no of any dealers in wellington who would deal with 4wds and no what there talking about?

If you intend to keep it and need a figure to pay out the ex, $5-6k, if you are selling, you'll get more on TM

Hey mate,
I just sold my 1989 LWB low roof Turbo manual for $6k last week.
I work for an Insurance company and our values are a lot higher than they are actually worth.
e.g our value on a 1992 nissan patrol lwb 7 seater is
min- $9500 to max- $11500 (by memory). (if you insure it between this its an agreed value, if its above this we would need to see proof)
and a 1989 LWB low roof 7 seater min- $7850 to max- $9250.
These prices get updated yearly and they dont reflect the market value just what a dealer network (red book) would say its worth so when they offer you $2,000 for your truck you will have a fair idea what they will try and sell it for.
but I would say yours would be worth about what I sold mine for if not a little more being few years newer.
Hope this helps.
Ray
