This lux was down at Blackdeaths workshop recently to have some work done on it, it looked well setup and the motor runs sweet now.

At least a trailer would put a bit of weight over the rear

I love it. I love it. Everyone so serious and competitive about 4 wheel drive modified trucks.

There is nothing wrong with cutting the back off as long as you move the front axle 300mm forward like a landrover.

Keep smiling :) :) :) :) :) :)

Cheers Richard

There is nothing new here.

Notice where the landrover front axle is. It is right under the radiator so all the engine and gearbox weight is between the axles.

Image

Old crusers and jeeps are same and that is why they climb well

A Hilux front axle is half way under the engine so all the weight is over the front axle. Therefore the back is too light and it is a mistake to cut them off.

Don't get too serious and keep smiling :) :) :) :)

Cheers Richard

I bet that lux has the same weight if not more weight over the rear axle with all the tube work and tray and 33" spare sitting right ontop than it did with the factory tray, and has a beter approach angle, therefore climbs beter and doesnt get hung up. :D i can have a dig and smile
