What Model is it

Post by mytronic »

Hi, thinking of replacing my JTop (now sold) with a Pajero SWB Auto 3.5 Hard Top. Chassis E-V25W GRXM. What is this NW, NV etc ? It has all the bells and whistles not that I want them but the price was right. Hight Adjustment, Shock adjustment (S-M-H) auto lock (Nice ,it does not allow 1st low to run away) Does anyone know if 33 fit with it set to high ? Does it have a LSD ? What should I look out for ? I have a Toyota FRP 6cyl Turbo Diesel with twin factory diff lockers. Finding it too big and heavy. Also, CV's any uprated types available ?

1) NJ .
2) Yes, but they might rub a little at the front on the flare when turning if you have wide offset wheels, mine on narrow 33's with std wheels is no rub.
3) More than likely. They are a good unit too.
4) Leaky valve stem seals - let it idle for a few minutes when warm then give it a rev and look for smoke.
5) I believe 3.5's have slightly bigger cv's than earlier ones but can't confirm this. You will be pretty reckless to break a Pajero front end.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

Thanks for that, she is almost too good to chop and dice but it has to be done :D
Thought the CV's looked meatier than the spindles I had on the JTop V6 3l ,lets hope I have better luck. Found the cooling system was thick brown sludge this morning after it sprung a leak on the pipe near the stepper idler assy. Hope this is not a bad omen  No smoke, smells rich though, but boy does it go like a cut cat. Should cope with 33s OK
