Finally got round to buying a new 4wd after far too long on the public transport system between cars. Its a 1990 2.8 dt bighorn with 31" rmt's on it, stock apart from that. Claims to have only done 137000kms but its hard to know for sure. Paid $3300 for it through trademe, is that a reasonable price? Came with decent cd player and speakers too.
I pretty much picked it up and drove straight to red rocks to have a bit of a play.
There's some pics in my album but i cant figure out how to put them on here, despite reading all the articles on posting images. My mac only has one button so right clicking to get properties is slightly harder. If someone could post up a couple that would be choice

Tidy looking truck... 3.3k is ok-ish for a low k's one in good condition. You could possibly have got one cheaper, but unlikely with those km's if they are real.
What are your plans for it? Drive it as-is or go mad and kit it out?
Welcome aboard

Got a mac-mini dazza, its bloody tiny! So much nicer not being susceptible to viruses like pc's too.
Plan on pretty much driving it as is, don't have the money to do anything major. If any part (preferably suspension) shits itself majorly then i'd be quite happy to replace it and lift it a bit. A snorkel would go down nice too if i can find one cheap enough. Apart from the odd trip off road every couple of weeks for a few hours, its main purpose is going to be hauling me and my mates/dive gear/snowboards around the coast/mountain. Having said this, i think i'll take part in the next wellington trip provided its a track it will be capable of.
Cheers

Theres a guy on TradeMe selling a snorkle, complete with all fittings and airbox, modified ready to go...

You can have it for $200, complete.
Also got a 2 1/2" exhaust system for it, turbo to tip... hell, pretty much got everything still there... sold the flares off it, which I need to get off as soon as I can get back to the workshop but other than that, let me know if there are any bits you need (like a new rear bumper

)

Could well be keen for the snorkel. With it being an akward size though is it going to cost much to freight? I'm in wellington. How do i go about fitting it, cut a hole in the side of the engine bay and the rest is straight forward?

Thats about the size of it. hole in guard, then three more holes along the guard for the snorkle to bolt to and a small stainless steel bracket up the a-pillar. I'll try to get down there to take a few pics for ya.
Freight should be around $25 I would guess, worst case I'll send it in two packages through a friend who gets courier tickets cheapish, which will work out at $25 total.
