In ref to the Vitara lift posts on this forum, does the lift also apply to the Grand Vitara?

I'm only a part time off roader and would like to enhance my ground clearance when heading over to red rocks etc. I have found over hells gate and a wee bit further around the coast at times the underbody gets the odd knock/scrape/bang. More than often I suspect it's the fuel tank protector ( no biggie), but want to do as much as possible to protect driventrain and my rear bumper!.

I was hoping to possibly purchase an OME or Ironman spring kit, but do these need to be run in partnership with their shock absorbers. The Ironman kit is circa $850AUD for coils and suspension, lift is 35mm. But, springs can be purchased on their own.

Are there any trade offs with these kits such as gearstick and steering rack reach,camber adjustment and so on....

I found this link on the Ironman website, so by the sounds of it I can add springs only to acheive a 35mm - 50mm lift dependent on my my factory suspension setup. The springs retaill for around $160AUD I think......

There are a couple of NZ stockists which includes Repco according to the email I receive from their enquries team.

I paid about $1400 fitted with a wheel alignment for my OME lift about 3 years ago. Meant to give 35mm lift but I never measured before and after. Still notably higher than factory GVs today, I've probably only put 25,000km on it since. I didn't really consider anyother brands as I wanted it in a hurry at the time. I had just bought 225/75/16 muds that were rubbing on the bodywork if you went over a bit of a slight bump in the road and I had a trip I wanted to do the next weekend. Mine is a 3dr.

I would get a front diff bash plate if you can. The diff is quite vulnerable.

You could also get in touch with stinky on here from Wellington Towbars and see what they can do for ya.

They made up this rear bar for my Suzuki a while ago. Has rated recovery hooks underneath. I do need to repaint it some time.
