Check King or Leak King, can't quite remember, is a mobile service that might be worth a shot.

Re: Compression test 1KZ-TE Rangiora

right Jeremy (kbjj) came round with his mates compression tester results are

Cyl 1 = 480
Cyl 2 = 505
Cyl 3 = 490
Cyl 4 = 490

so we put it all back together connected the fuel and ticked it over and it started so went for a bit of a drive exhaust fumes went from white, blue, grey, black then gone no knocking or grinding warmed her up then put foot down had no issues.
so question is; is cyl 2 that far out to be of a concern

Its is not really out at all. That is quite a normal reading.

If there was a 50lb difference, that would be a worry.

Number 1 is the worst cyl.

What has been the issue with the zinger burger?

If you suspect a cracked head, the best thing on these is to pressurise the cooling system for about 1/2 hr. Remove the glowplugs, then wind over. See if any coolant gets blown out.

I've done quite a few 1KZ heads where the leak down tests were good but the heads were cracked. They tend to crack inside the inlet port above the valves. With a leak down test the valves are closed so it doesn't pick up the crack.

What vehicle do you have? Surf or Prado? 5spd or a/t?
