What castor correction does everyone use for their 80 series cruisers?
Not sure what size lift I have, but its running castor bushes, but it still "wanders" a little, so looking at my options.

Looked at bolt on castor plates, but these are for 5" lift only, but also looking at Superior Engineering Flex arms, or 2Dextreme drop arms (although these are a little pricey when compared to the Superior arms) and it looks like drop boxes are a weld on only item?

Castor plates would be cheapest if my lift turns out to be 5", but at $300 odd for plates plus $600 for new bushes, its getting up there in price.

Any thoughts/recommendations?

Hello.

Drop boxes have worked for me. Occasionally a set appear on trademe. These are a bolt on option. Picks up the cross member bolts. Does make dropping the gearbox out a little interesting but has made my cruiser handle well.

It has a five inch lift and no castor correction bushes and handles quite well. When i find some castor correction bushes on the cheap I will fit those too improve it further.

My 80 has 3 inch lift with bushes and it drives sweet as

Can anyone give measurements from the bumpstops to diff or centre of axle to bottom of flare F & R?

Might give an idea of what lift I have.

I've done a bit of research and from what I gather, stock height is 20" centre of hub to buttom of flare.

I've got a set of drop boxes for 4" lift and I'm not entirely sold on them yet - they may be good for castor correction but they stick out like dogs balls.

Cant you get the std arms bent for caster correction on the 80#? with some lifts

there is a 80 at local 4wd shop with the Superior Engineering Flex arms,they werent that impressed...they do hang quite low also,quite alot different to the GQ ones

hay i got a mate who was thinking of selling his bolt on drop boxes what type of money would be a realistic price as this will be his first question to me when i mention it to him

Im pretty sure mine has the 100mm lift. When I got it it had the lift, but no castor correction bushes. It was a handful on the road! Got my bushes from Autolign and once fitted it was a different truck. Chucked a new heavy duty steering dampner in it too. Just need to get a wheel alignment one day to check toe etc.
