What fuel does the 6G74 run on?
What fuel does the 6G74 run on?
Folks, I swaped from a 3.0 to a 3.5 a little while ago. Someone has stuck a "91 unleaded" sticker under the gas flap - but from what I can tell, these engines need 95+?

Hmmmmm,
I hope it does, but it shouldn't do it to bad as they have a knock sensor in the block and no dissy so timing should be pretty easily adjusted.
Mine will sometimes knock when underbonnet temps are high (sitting idling for a few minutes) then a load put on it.
Or if I get too low in the revs under a load when I should be in a lower gear anyway!

Took me a few moments to understand the question - then I read my original post...
I think by far the easiest way is find a 3.5 with all the body, chassis and running gear attached, and just swap over your seat covers. This is what I did.
