the new navara "most powerful on earth" commercial is annoying. they are only selling the 140kw 4 cyl diesel version, not the 170kw V6 diesel version.

absolutely, i much prefer the D22 for offroad. but onroad performance and big power sells

To make that claim it must have LPG fummigation.

I think they forgot about the 1VD-FTE powered Landcruiser, produces 151kW and 430Nm in the 70 series ute.

the mitsi 'nearly' does that.. 138kw and 408nm. and it doesnt have to have a nissan badge.

Yea but the Cruiser is not in the same class as the smaller utes like the Hilux or Navara and the Navara with 140kw and 450nm would be a shite load quicker than the Cruiser and with more torque would tow allmost aswell for a much lighter ute.

but nissans advertising doesn't say "most powerfull in its class"......simply "most powerfull ute in the world". both the landcruiser and nissans own top model are more powerfull than the 140kw version they are advertising.

it just sucks that we get the low powered version and they are advertising it as the high powered version.

not sure with the D40 but no problem towing 3 ton with the D22. even with #$%ed trailer brakes it doesn't push the ute around.
landcruiser may be bigger but it doesn't increase towing abilities or payload. however the landcruiser excels in serious offroad driving.
but you can buy two hiluxs for the price of one landcruiser.

What are the Ford F series ute's rated at??

yes it is big....but looks kinda weird....they have lifted the tray up about 8 inches more than the front so now the wheel arches dont line up....bizzare.....only in america

The tray is at factory level, thats how F650 4x4's come.

The thing is though, the american 'utes' are called pick up's. So they are not competing against the Navara. Not sure about the Landcruiser though.

doesn't make much difference if you count usa pickups or even landcruiser, nissan has 2 other D40 models that have more power than the one they are advertising.
they are just trying to hype the sh*t out of the new low powered version untill the high powered is released here.
