toyota surf repower

ive got a 1991 ln130 surf with the 2.4 turbo diesel, its getting rather tired and am looking at something with a big more power, the body etc is in great nick still so thought an engine repower might be the go, has anyone repowed the power plant in one of these, what engine could i chuck in and still use the same tranny etc????

you could always buy one already done, it will save you heaps lol.

I know a guy who is selling a 1KZ-TE its complete & has an auto on it.Is a good runner too.
Can also be heard running.

1kz with a mechanical fuel pump 8) they go good boosting between 18 and 22pound, im biased thou :lol:
