hard start & non respoding accelerator

Hi guys,
I have 1994 1k-te A/T Prado-kzj78. It had a hard start, I recently did an overhaul on the engine, it started fast soon after the engine overhaul. But then the following day the hard start was back and has never stopped. My electricians told me that the ECU is not opening the injector pump fast. Could this be true? or could it be the injector pump.
Another problem I have is that when I make a sharp turn, the accelerator stops responding or engine goes off. Does anyone know signs of turbo wear or turbo wastegate wear, because when I shut the turbo wastegate the engine has more power.
ANYONE WITH AN IDEA OF THIS ENGINE? PLEASE HELP...

what did you overhual on the engine?
Any engine check light on the dash?
have you tried another ECU?
have you checked all the vaccum hoses are tight and not leaking.
manifild boost sensor might be palyin up / clogged with tar from EGR, ie only suppling enough fuel for detected manifold air pressure .
TPS could also be at fualt.

list could go on.

sharp turn would indicate loose connection in wiring some where, particularly if motor stops, also check fuel pick up in tank, may be picking air up in fuel system some where

the other thing is air leak in the fuel lines. get a bubble build up in the filter which it sucks in when the fuel moves in the filter.

The problem will be electrical.

Harness plug loose, wires worn through.

Hard starting will be the glow plugs not warming, again an electrical problem.

Start by checking the harness to the ignition barrel, work back from there :D

I replaced liners, pistons, piston rings, bought new overhaul gasket etc, I however have not managed to find the right ECU to try to see if this solves the starting problem, engine check light comes on and vacuum hoses are tight. Another problem I forgot to metion is lack of power/speed, does a gearbox fault play any part in power/speed of a vehicle. Thanks guys for your response I will look into the electrical part of the vehicle

is it in limp mode (low power)?

is the injection pump timed right?

the ecu controlled pump still need to be timed just right as there is limited amount of correction by the ecu. it only does the correction on startup, the closer the pump is to what the ecu wants the easier it is for it to start.

Thanks guys for the reply, I will try it out.
Would anyone know good the 2H engine in a landcruiser is as compared to the 1HZ? I have a 2H pick up and 1HZ station wagon(HZJ81), I want to put the 1HZ engine and gearbox in the 2H body.
