Hi everyone,
I'm looking into doing a mild lift on my XJ Cherokee.
I'm not after a show lift (i would like something still streetable and don't have an open cheque book)
What size lift would be suitable for my situation??
Thanks in Advance

Depends on what you intend to do, is it for off road performance? Do you intend to carry/tow heavy loads, would you sacrifice on road performance for off road performance (or vice versa)?

Yeah it is to increase the performance offroad, so it will clear more obsticles.
Don't intend to tow really heavy load probably just a trailer with 3 motorbikes on.
Yes i would most definatly sacrifice on road performance for better off road
cheers

You could always go for an off the shelf kit such as EFS. Try 4wd Systems in Auckland, 09 444 6676.
Let them know what you want, and what your intentions are as there may be a number of springs available (eg hard, soft etc), and they should be able to recommend something.
I'm not familiar with these vehicles, so can't really say how high to go, as every vehicle is different, but this may get you started, and you can compare prices with brands such as TJM, Old Man Emu etc.
Hope this helps a little.

From what you've said you should be looking at the standard off-the-shelf 50mm lift kit. Replace springs and shocks together and you will probably find the truck rides better lifted than it did stock, due to the aftermarket shocks normally being stiffer.
I don't think MaxiTrac have a Jeep listing at all, but I'm pretty sure Dobinsons do one which is around 35mm lift. You should expect to pay from around $200/pr for coils, and around $300-350/pr for leafs and around $240/pr for standard gas-charged shocks. Normally fitting suspension is not a too-hard job, but it can be frustrating without the correct tools so if you only have a $29.95 warehouse toolbox, get a price for fitting as well.
Welcome aboard
