Can you get a buyback clause and purchase the wreck or get a clause allowing you to remove the extras not covered in the insurance before it is disposed of?

Been thinking about this myself, is there a buy back clause? :?

You need a buy back clause or agreed value.

agreed value is still only 20% above market rate, most companies will let you cash settle on repair costs. If it becomes a total loss is will need to be de reg.
ie repairs are $8000 valuation is $7500. cash settle with assessor on $5000 cash and retain wreck.
if you cannot agreed on wreck price with assessor, all wrecks will be sold at Auction, then you have to deal with the rest of us who know the true value.
example Pete had spent $60,000 on his truck, the market for this was $26,200 had it been valued it could have been anything
one off builds are hard to put a value on as every one has there own opinion of true worth.
And yes I do work for an Insurance company, so have insight into day to day operations.
