Nissan safari lsd wanted/questions

hello all again,

back with more questions once again!

Im look at getting a lsd for my Safari 1990 td42 non turbo swb

firstly... Has anyone got one or know of one for sale in the canterbury region...

also heard a rumour that the terrano lsd's are the same diff head

If anyone can give me some info on this it would be great

Terrano LSD is the same as the front diff of your Safari.

I'd be very suprised if it doesn't have an LSD in it.
Terrano is the same diff but it has 31 spline axles and Safari rear is 33 spline.

I saw a patrol with open rear diff. Seemed like a low end model almost as it was missing other bits. But go take it for a skid and see if both wheels spin. Terrano lsd will fit the front diff only.

Yep..i've got one. Out of the Safari rear diff H233b.
LSD only. Let me know if you're keen.

i take it now that terrano lsd's go straight in the front of these withno mods? am i right? do ratios matter or anything?cheers

Yes go straight in with no mods. You use your pinion and ring gear you just swap the clutch packs.

so is a terrano lsd a mechanical lsd stilll or is it viscous? are they good lsd's?cheers

exactly the same as the safari except for the ratio and spline count

not sure what ill do with that for now..although i think my brother has his one lying around somewhere he took his rear diff out for a lsd diff.ill check
