Wasn't so cold and frosty this morning so the lawns weren't so wet therefore I thought I'd give the lawns a quick mow as they needed it.

Of course it wasn't that straightforward. The (ride on) mower's battery was flat, and one tyre was also flat. Never mind push thee mower upto a car to jump start it, and use a tyre pump to inflate the errant tyre. Of to mow I go. Midway through mowing a branch hooks the mower's keys and stalls the mower. Won't restart so it's push back to the car for another restart.

Eventually the lawns are done and are looking good. Will plan ahead next time and charge (or replace) the mower's battery before the spring mowing season.

It's often the case that what should be a quick simple job isn't.

Went wheeling around red rocks on friday evening was awesome fun, tried a few more difficult tracks was happy as with how the Terrano went with the swaybars removed what a difference!! Although did belly out nice and good and bent up my running boards which pissed me off a bit, so im gonna pull them out and put some beefy sliders on.

While me and a mate were at red rocks there was this rough as guy in another terrano slamming his truck around some trails, man I feel sorry for the thing! If he couldn't make it up a track he just hit it at even more speed! Entertaining to watch though and good to see how much a terrano can handle!

Today changed Oil and Filter made a bloody great big mess in the process and changed the clutch in a mates corolla, tomorrow off to fit a dirty V8 lexus into my brothers Hiace van, should be fun!

I certainly hope that when you say you tried a few more tracks

that you meant you strayed off the track and down to the beach

I hope you were nowhere near the hills that have signs all over them saying "keep out-private property"

or that you weren't playing on any dunes that have the endangered grass or whatever it is :|

Because the 1kzte cracked a head and for the same price we could put the V8 in... It seemed like a good idea at the time :)

Hey man, Nah I made sure I kept away from the Hills with signs and definitely stayed away from the dunes, I realise this place is already at risk and wouldn't want to put it in jeopardy for others!

The track I was mainly making mention to is after devils gate there's a track after a river crossing that goes up a hill as the track around it seems to be getting a bit dodgy as it erodes.

I really want to go out with some of the more experienced crew who can show me around the place some more and give me the in's and outs and where I can and cant play!

I noticed some of the hills aren't marked are they ok to play on or still a no-go?

Cheers,

its a good idea to keep off all the dunes round there, as you are likely to be observed by members of public/maf etc

Keep an eye out for the next rallywoods trip or the next kiwi4x4.org.nz Aka's trip

Went for a skid up the Wire's in the wet, planted half a dozen tree's, cranked up the billy at the river in for lunch, then drove out.

Very entertaining track mid winter

Good to see the truck still goes ok after RWC 2010

Drove from hamilton to waipukrau (south of hastings) to collect my mates new sj410 - he is new to the sport so we thought we would go down some tracks on the napier taupo road

it took him 10minutes to do this -Admittedly I did tell him to try driving over that mound of dirt ahhahaha
