performance 1hdt

Post by uwish »

hi all
what sort of mods can you do to get more performance out on these motors the truck is a 1994 with 110,000kms on it it has a computer chip.
i was thinking 3" exhaust
a front mount intercooler
them was going to play with fuel and turbo?

is there a bigger turbo you can bolt on?
what mods can you do to diesel pump?

also where in christchurch can anyone recomend to get exhaust manifold flanges cut out of steel and stainless so you can make your own flows or turbo maifolds or water jacketed exhaust?

also if anyone has a td42 head that they are goin to throw out id be keen or swap for beer

3 inch exhaust and intercooler are a good start, instant gains from a few bolt ons. Put a EGT gauge in it and wind up the fuel slowly.
Supra CT26 cold side is good, GT2860R bolts straight on I think.
Marine version of the motor come stock with 320hp.

safari have just released new bolt-on turbo upgrades with a TD06, added to their range of intercoolers they have also released a complete exhaust system.... expect to empty your wallets easily thou  intercooler kits $3800, turbo kits $5900, exhuast sytems $2600

i had my CT26 rebuilt by alltech in Auckland with T04E internals, helps it spool up faster, add to this a 3" mandrel bent exhaust from my local muffler shop, and more fuel wound into it and it goes good....

i also belive that changing the anoroid pin in the fuel pump for one from a mitsi 4M40 helps with of boost overfueling and can flow more fuel for on -boost than the factory unit

:)
i used to Cruise, now i PATROL

The Yanmar version would have to have a completely different induction and fuel system to make that kind of power.

ie. around 30 pounds of boost
