Qualified as "Wally of the Week" this afternoon.

Went to fill my truck with diesel, stood there watching the $$$ thinking that it was very expensive diesel at $1.759/L until the penny dropped - it wasn't diesel it was petrol! Duh!   :!:

Fortunately I'd onbly pumped about 40L. A local mechanic was called to tow the truck to his garage and pump out the petrol. A couple of hours later it was back off to the garage and this time put diesel in. The local volunteer fire brigade get about 50L of diesel petrol blend to play with.

First time in 5 years of diesel ownership that I've done this.
While I was waiting for the mechanic saw another local who admitted that he'd done the same (petrol into the diesel) earlier in the week. Can't claim the prize on my own then.

Oh dude that sucks, it happens all the time though. I work as a truck mechanic and you wouldn't believe the amount of callouts I've been to where a driver has filled up his big truck with petrol!! Its mental!

Um well my weekend, sold my surf and got a new hilux ute tonight.

Then tomorrow heading to the south island for 12days on a snowboarding road trip with mates owww yeahh

Pulled EGR Valve out of the Terrano, Now I know why it was running on 3 cylinders sometimes! The amount of crap built up around one of the cylinders was amazing! It would have reduced the inlet size an easy 50%.

What a mess though! I look like a tribal warrior with war paint on my face haha!

Tomorrow will be finishing steering idler arm support and giving it a wheel alignment, kinda hit it out quite a bit going over Devils gate with a tad to much pace.... whoops

Got some of the Nankang Mudstars for the BJ40, 33x12.5 for $250 after reading positive comments on here about them. Must say I'm really happy, they look good, aren't too noisy and feel ok on the road and seem to grip really well in the mud. Need more playtime now to test them out.
Tomorrow, finish making the snorkel ready for Sheffield mudplug.

Will post some photos tomorrow hopefully.

Got the Flu so been feeling ratshit all day, still managed to put my lift springs shocks an shackles in the 70.
The new/2nd hand springs are OME 2" lift springs but cos my old springs were soo sagged out Its ended up just over 100mm higher than it was
Im sure itll settle down a bit but even so the ride height has improved dramatically, it doesnt hit the bumpstops on every small bump
Tomorrow Ill have to clean up the mess I made today

Miserable day in CHCH but managed to get out and finish making the snorkel, not quite an Airflow but should do the job:

Image

Also got some much needed mud on the new Nankang Mudstars, 33x12.5. Had a play at the bottom of Worsley to test them out, really need a suspension lift! Can't believe how well the truck goes off road, it's the first play since buying it.

Bumper prior to taking the ends off flush with the chassis mounts to give better entry angle:

And after, looks much better:

That'll do for today, too bloomin cold to be outdoors.

Club run over to Poutu point yesterday too damn wet and cold to take the zuk so took my dad in the whale, first time he had ever been off road .. spent the day cruising down the beach and sliding down steep steep dunes, Whale went well this time, the rebuilt injector pump giving me just that extra bit of power that made the difference between making it over the dune and digging in 1/2 a meter from the top

got the whale airborne a couple of times which did something to the front lower arm bushes as theres a clonk like you wouldn't believe coming from under there now ... sigh next weekends job.
