my bros got a 3l diesel and snapped 2 belts, and has had no luck finding replacments as all the parts shops, incl toyota want to know what year the motor is, problem is its a repower. ie: its a 84 surf fitted with a 3l diesel.
He wants to replace all the belts, anybody able to help with parts numbers etc???????

i thought all 3ls were the same, is there any stamps on the block he can find to find out what model it is?

My old 2L and the 5L both have the same belts. I'll go see if they have the numbers on them

My 5L motor has
2 belts that go round the crank pulley, fan and alternator.
2x 9412 Gates Green stripe XL 13A1040
1 belt crank pulley and PS pump
1x 9330 Gates Green stripe XL 13A0840

no air con. My old motor never had PS. If these do the trick let me know what it costs as have been meaning to do mine for a while.

There is two types of 3l i beleave one for vans and one for surfs the surf one had a different head cover.The black top one is the later one.

cheers for that ill pass that on, Toyota even gave him what they thought were the belts for a 3l but did not fit, see how those go, think they are giving him to try before he buys.....
