Is this a common conversion? Anyone done it before? wanting to know if the 1gge will bolt up to 22r bellhousing. The engine mounts will need to be modifed? And laslty where would the bulge in the sump need to be? motor im looking at has bulge infront but he has a spare sump with bulge in the middle? cheers

I did a 1g-geu into an 84 LN60 surf years ago.
If you have the manual gearbox bell housing for the 1g and you have a W or G series gearbox you should be fine.
Mine bolted straight into a W56 and then later into a g52 4 spd in the same truck with no engine mount mods.
Then theres the wiring which isnt really a problem.
The front sump is not really suitable because of clearance issues and the oil runs away from pick up when going up hill when you need oil the most. A middle sump is better but a rear sump is best.
Having said that, I had a front sump in mine for a couple of years with no problems other than alarmingly low oil pressure at times.
Good luck
