Used MT tread

Post by Mattnz »

What is a good amount of tread I should be expecting with used mud tyres?

5-7inch a no go? or not bad.

Tyres will only be put on my truck when going on the mud.

If you're talking about tread depth:
5-7 inch would be considerably better than new.
5-7mm would be ok, closer to 10mm would be better. Most mud tyres are about 15mm new and they bite best for the first 5mm, after that they're much less effective.
It all comes down to how much you want to pay, there are some good budget mud tyres now that don't cost much more than a set of 2nd hand worn decent brand ones.

From waht Ive seen worn (anything more than 20%) second hand are a waste of time unless sand hopping, before you klnow it they are worn 50% and effectively useless...
