Post by chrome »

hi all, iv just ripped out my useless air con and turned on the switch to check which pipe is the outlet but no air? on one and just a tiny amount of vacuum on the other, has anyone done this to a prado 94 with the 1kz motor??
wondering if iv missed some thing or my pump is not switching on??
any input is appreciated

as far as i know, its got a low pressure switch that wont let the compressor run without gas.

Yeap they defiantly have a low pressure switch also have a high pressure switch. The low pressure switch will be on the Bigger of the a/c pipes that will come out of the firewall and make its way to the compressor, you can just loop these wires and will trick the a/c system into thinking it has gas pressure. The High pressure switch is to protect the system incase the a/c fan condensor fan motor fails or something

yeah had same problem with my safari and this setup.

The gas filter had a sensor on the top and just joining the sensor wires together made it operate as desired.

If you cant find the switch the easiest way will be to run new wires to the pumps clutch and dash switch and i'd use a relay too.

When its going... you'll know all about it  they blow shitloads of air.
phone Ross Bolus (secretary of the BOP club) He'll save you.
