Windscreen Wiper's / White Spoke Wheels

Post by timmay556 »

The driver’s side windscreen wiper is "skipping" across my windscreen making a terrible noise that drives me nuts. I've changed out the blades to the silicon ones to make sure that weren’t the problem - Does anyone have ideas?

I'm wanting to get my hands on some new white spoke wheels for my Hilux, its a 1996 IFS but it has the (I think) 1998 Hilux chrome wheels on it - they are not very wide so it looks like the tires are really skinny compared to other trucks I've seen with the same size tires - would going to the wider rims fix that? (My tires are 31x10.5R15 Bridgestone Dueler AT's) If so where can I get them for a decent price?

Cheers

Are the the silicone ones from repco by any chance? I had them and they were shit! Made so much noise and didn't clear the window fully.

Luckily a kea decided to eat them at the remarkables a few weekends ago so I replaced them with Bosch refills (rubber blade and upper wiper arm section) from Transport Wholesale LTD. Cost me less than $20 for a pair and they are excellent. No noise even when the window is dry.

does the blade move freely in the wiper arm. i find that if you use the multi fit blade on the 8mm clips it better to cut off the 6mm one. lets it move to the shape of the window more freely

They are from SuperCheapAuto - probably the same sh!t tbh.

I've found Transport Wholesale LTD's website but not where to order them from... I'm in Taupo if anyone knows where to get them from.

Sorry I'm not too familiar with this forum, Rob who?

looks like the closest branch might be rotorua.. can probably make a phone order. otherwise repco and supercheap have them too I think, but they'll probably be quite a bit more.

here's a link to the bosch site with the wiper catalouge
