fj40 fj45 gearbox

gday i have fj40 and was wondering if a 45 gear box would fit in the same as a 40 box????? its easyer 4 me 2 get a 45 box

yep as long as its the f serries bell housing and the 3 and 4spd usually have different bolt patterns on the drive shaft flanges too ....

the only difference to watch out for is between the petrol and diesel gearboxes, the diesel boxes have a long fine spline input shaft and the petrol have a short coarse spline input shaft... dont get the wrong one!

If you have a later 40 series your gearbox will have a crossmember and mount as opossed to the earlier ones that hung straight off the bell housing without any mounts.

I`ve just replaced the clutch in my FJ40 and I can let you the gear box weights a sh*tload. It took about 1hr to get out :D and 3 days to get back in :x Helpd to have the right tools for the job of course. Good Luck

well there both fjs not bjs arnt they so they will be both be petrol boxes so spline differences is no issue :shock:

so throw em im mate.....

cheers will do going ta borrow my m8s works work shop for it so should make life a little easyer 8)
