Hi Everyone,

I finally got my Series 2 all going. I had to pull the master cylinder off to clean it out and free up the piston. I then had to free up the throttle and adjust the idle. Bung off the rear brakes as there is none on 1 side and the other side leaks.

Took for a drive around and had a good time but didnt go to far as I was low on fuel and had a miss but thats all been sorted.

I will try and post some pictures later.

Next on the list is some rear brakes does anyone have any???

Im talking about the complete unit from the line from the centre of the diff to the drivers side (piston, shoes, everything). The otherside I can just fix as its a leak.

then rust to be taken out and get the indicators going and then its wof time

I will be keen to see some photos.

What are your plans for it ?

Is it Modified or standard ?

Yeah Richard I will hopefully have some pick up tonight.

Its pretty standard at the moment bar the reco 202 motor.

Its got 650 x 16 SAT's (Dunlop and Firestone)


Plans are to get a wof at this stage and then see how it goes in standard form if all works out then I will look at bigger tyres but I just want to keep it as origional as possible

I was hoping you were going to say that, because good series 2s are fast becoming thin on the ground and over seas are starting to fetch good money.

Looks good and straight and with the safari top a bit rarer. Definately too good to damage for the sake of it.

For many years people have been collecting series 1s. While this has been happening the series 2s have been crushed and now people are just waking up to the fact there are few good ones left. You do still see them around paddocks but most are beyond it with rust.

Worth looking after

Yeah I will probably take it for a shiny day off road but I dont want to go to far with it. I have only had it about 1month and my 2 year old still doesnt like it (to loud and old she says) but yet my bighorn which is louder if fine haha.

Yeah I couldnt beleave it when they offered it to me as I only paid $300 for it (not a missprint).

there main concern was for it to go to someone who was going to do there best with getting it up and running again.

Yeah I have seen a few in paddocks and they are not worth looking at as its to much work.

Will keep everyone posted on the development.

Haha if only the shed was mine lol it was actually the shed the truck stayed in for the 9years before I got it. The only shed I use is my double garage and my Landlords workshop (hoists, tools, anything I want to use there free of charge)

The truck is fun to drive I enjoy driving it (as far as I can with no rego or wof) the dog likes to come for a ride but my 2 year old hates it haha it wasnt until I left it sitting for a 3weeks and went to use it again and the clutch master cylinder seal went so still driveable but have to keep filling up with fluid.

Like they said. Those are getting crazy prices in the states and UK now. It's good to see a really tidy original example.
