Safari Help Needed

I bought a new safari i got it for $6200 without the simex it had on it. It has a turbo, 3" suspension, 2" body, snorkel, winch with in cab controls, locker front, lsd rear and literally a car load of spares (the owner left the country).
My questions are:
It needs a cert for the body lift and the bucket seats where is a good place to go in the bay of plenty?
It smokes alot and a mate said it could be the diesel pump wound up too much, so how would i wind it down and what are other causes (its only black smoke but heaps of it even for a diesel)
Did i pay too much considering it needs a cert and reg?
Will try and post pictures I havent quite figured out how

can't comment on price as I haven't seen it. But I would have knocked it down as it only has rear LSD and no cert. Gives me an idea of price for mine as it may welll be up for sale in the very near future.
Black smoke: check your air filter first. These big motors need to breath and it will more likely be a clogged air filter then the fuel pump. But saying that, nissans with turbos tend to be wound up a little anyways.

Have had rear locker in a Safari and have gone back to the LSD. Locker is either in or out and I found when it was in the truck went straight or slide side ways. When it was out I just spun one tyre so in real world conditions the LSD (and front locker) gave better performance.
Front locker no question but rear i think is well over rated. But I am talking a lot of hp (over 500hp) and slipery ground. Rocky ground does change this opinion though.

Each to their own. I had my factory rar locker rebuilt and have never looked back, goes on and off as fast as an airlocker. Your right about going straight though. What I found though is with the rear locker engaged and front locker working, the shorty dcould pivot on a dime like a tank does in really tight obstacles and around trees. And I don't have 500hp in the pig either. Taz: pm sent.
