WOF for the Jeep today, not too bad
1) Rear brake light bulb gone
2) Fix sharp metal left where I removed the footrest when removing carpet (Removed 2 years ago, no mention until now??)
3) Had to put anti-sway bar back in
The last is the most interesting one. I took the anti-sway bar out several years ago too. No mention of it until today. Same guy (at VTNZ) tested it last time too with no problems. He is also a Jeep owner
Have they changed the rules in the last few months.
Will have to look at some disconnects, as I am not spending 1 1/2 hours removing front skid plate each time to put the anti sway bar in and out.
At least I put plenty of grease on all the bolts this time

no rule changes affecting that no, the rules state that if it is factory fitted with one then it has to have it on or a cert plate for the modification. your WOF guy has only just noticed or has been letting you slide under the radar.
as for me, i did some more work on the 40 then took it for a drive and did some phaat skids (may, or may not have been on the road)

maintance mode today after a savage club run last Sunday, the zook had a issue engaging 4wd at the begining of the run last sunday ... had to smack the rf hub with a hammer while rocking it back and forward till it went crunch/clang.
pulled the front hub and stripped it down the thing was so glued together with rust and dried grease that im surprised it worked at all, gave everything a good clean and regrease and away it goes.
Mrs said her car was making a "funny" noise ... took it for a drive and could hear metal against metal on brakes .. sigh... trip into town for brake pads .. strip front lhf and stared to push the piston back, POP! then brake fluid starts pi$$ing everywhere ... f&&* rush into town and get to Labberts 5 mins before they close, clean up piston and fit new kit ... bleed and test.
started to try and track down the vibration in the saf .. but im putting up a separate post in the Nissan forum for that

1st day of "Project Intercooler", made flanges, machined 5deg entry and exits in all sections, attached 10 inch fan to under intercooler.

Welded washers on rear swaybar droppers; should stop punching the rod up through the washer now
Replaced rear handbrake shoes again

they the expensive one's too
Mounted new pyro gauage to cluster and run wires.
Tomorrow,
Weld up pipes for intercooler, install thermocouple in exhaust, fit intercooler and wire up fan

Mount air scoop to bonnet
Found bent panhard rod, so replaced that too.

Next,
Set wastegate rod at 18psi.........find new engine
Cheers.

Spent yesterday sorting out some bits on the Bighorn and clesaning out the inside. Then today went and had a a play on the Poreka. The down side is that at the bottom of the plyon trail on the wrong side of th emud hole I broke a Tire rod
Luckly we were able to recover it back up onto the road so that I could lie in the mud while it snowed

to take it out and then went and borrowed another one from a friends Bighorn to get me back home which meant more lying in the mud while snowed.
All and all a great day

Went into the bush with the boys for the weekend, replaced the damaged waste pipe under the bach..... some bastard decided to run the tap while I was under there with all the pipes apart?
Pulled my flatdeck transfercase apart last week to stick the pto drive gear in it and putting it back together with a new idler shaft and thrust washers tonight

Should have been in last weekends post but.. picked up a battery via Skid and got the 40 out of the garage, washed it and the wee one wanted to do for a ride.. (what can a Dad do!)

We had to go back home so she get get a jacket and head out again. She is a good lass!
Need to get gauges working, horn working, mount tailgate, oil change, bonnet on, front grill on, adjust brakes (pedal and hand) then off for a WoF (I think that is all at the moment) fix up couple of patches of rust (each side above exhaust outlet mainly).

Did 140kms to a full tank, must be the 6000rpm right foot of mine haha
Bit of a change, 80 series cruiser on 35s to a escudo softtop on stock 26s

Best get a heat gun to remove that pink bit on the side, (just heat the transfer to soften it not peel the paint off

)
And those pink seat covers....DUDE they have to go!!!
Get rid of the pretend nudge and side bars (sell em now while they are straight).
I see it has the suzuki "custom" matt finish on the bonnet. Why do they all seem to do that?

you wont feel gay when you drive right past the bogged Saf's and 40's

My Saf is no match for my zook offroad ...ok she looks a little different than yours these days .. but underneith she's stock soft top Zook and stock running gear

Heath, no man in his right mind would get of pink bits, especially if theres two on either side of him
The sidebars are a disgrace, they make it harder to get in
meece, going from the cruiser to this is a huge change - I dont have the ego that I had with the big truck. Although I did notice the lack of left foot room annoying
I'm not supposed to spend any money on this, only enough to keep it going while I fix my big truck but if I do end up getting cheap deals this is what I want the final product to look like:
