Bit of info needed

Just wondering if the 8 valve injected heads are the same as the 8 valve carb heads? I am wanting to put in a 8 valve injected motor in and just wondering if my coby extractors will work with the new motor?
Also where have people put tow hooks on the front of vitara's?
and lastly what are the legal requirements of aftermarket lights, i.e spot lights? I have just done a quick wire of ones in mine, but they just have a switch and no relay etc. (switch lights up when on). I heard that the Suzuki lights are wired differently from most so it is a bit harder to set up relay for lights etc? anyone know about this?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Lincoln

I believe they are the same head but with a different intake manifold. all the ports (shapes and manifold mounts) are the same as the 1300 head too, but the valves are bigger in the 1600 8V.
I'm 90% sure I am correct, but that 10% is a killer (the nagging doubt factor).
Someone chime in if I am wrong.
Is your wagon still on blocks in the drive (drove past and saw you under neath it on Sunday).

I'm looking to mount some tow hooks on the front of mine next week, let us know if you find any useful information. The best I've seen is where you slide a bit of 10mm think tapped square bar into the chassis rail and bolt the hook into that. I've also read some club rules regarding mounting of extraction hooks and they recon you should use at least three bolts, two that hold the hook to the chassis and plate and one more that just connects the chassis and plate. Will post some pics if I end up doing mine first!

Heads are the same . Only fitted hooks to a vitara that had no bumpers so had heaps more room to play with

Good luck .

I will see if I still have pics of when I mounted them on my escudo, another option is to weld plate steel down either side of the front body mount that goes to the chassis rail, that way you can then weld on a piece of angle iron to that and then bolt on the tow hook. this way they are up high enough so when the front is buried in the mud you can still get to the hooks.

Hey heath yea it is. Clutch is all hooked up now and just torquing up all the bolts then doing the exhaust again. new windscreen tomorrow too. should be all legal again for next weekend for the rodney mud drags.
I dont have a front bumper on at the moment so its no problem, looking at making one from 6mm plate that a mate has. But it wont be big. gotta keep the weight down
I know Scott put a tube through the front crossmemebr and then welded plates on the end and attached hooks on there. moonhoppers idea is a good one too.
at least i shouldn't have to buy new extractors for the new engine then.
